Scott Westerfeld, steampunk, and erotica

The first erotic story I ever read was Scott Westerfeld's "Polymorph," which sort of sealed my fascination with gender-shifting. It must have also been the first cyberpunk I read (though I've always attributed my introduction of cyberpunk to Tad Williams and his "Otherland" series). Very well written, very "sleek and sexy" as someone put it on Amazon.

Just the other day, I thought I'd see what he was up to recently. Still writing? I wondered.

Yes. He is. Young adult novels, funny enough. And the latest one is a steampunk.

This world is way too small. o.0

Love, fangs, and fur.

  1. Hi, I found your blog through twitter & I just have to say that I heart Scott Westerfeld! And, well, he filled my reading after I went through Twilight (Yes, I said Twilight, I know!, lol) And, I LOVE his books. And, though, I mostly enjoy his YA, I did track down a used copy of Polymorph! It was different from what I was used to, but actually was very interesting! Did you read his other Adult SciFi ones? You may also like Evolution's Darling too. I was a little disappointed with the ending, wanting more, but I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing. Great concepts. I think his writing was actually ahead of it's time, and maybe why he does better with YA. :) Anyway, I'm glad I found you on Twitter and I'm excited to see more about your writing and blog as well. I also like scifi and para! Take care & happy reading & writing!! :)
